Tim Ward was born on 30th of October 1981, the third child of the family in London. In 1983 he and his family moved to Bath, where he grew up and went to school. In the following years he studied specializing in the School of Biology, Geography and Sports Science. He was a keen sportsman at school, playing rugby, hockey, cricket and tennis.
Tim started riding horses at an early age. Once he discovered polo he never
looked back!
He was a member of the Beaufort hunt pony club and enjoyed all aspects of riding especially the cross country and hunting. Playing through the levels of the English pony club polo he won the top grade (under 18) two times.

After school Tim took a year out to work in the polo industry around the world, during which he trained horses and played Polo in Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Among other things he played for Ellerston in Australia. He then studied and graduated from Exeter University with a degree in Biology and Geography.

Since 2005 Tim has been making a living through polo. He has been working as a polo instructor and professional player in a number of countries around the Globe as well as working as a horse trainer training high goal horses for players such as Roddy Williams and Luke Tomlinson. Tim is a qualified HPA instructor and umpire Grade C and was put up to 3
goals in 2012.

Tim is lucky enough to have made his hobby, his job and is very much enjoying being based in Hamburg where he keeps his horses and teaches polo in the Win PoloSchule.
